Our Story
A home for innovators, educators, and those who want to build something, however big or small.
In today’s increasingly AI driven world it will be the tinkerers, innovators and big thinkers who win big.
Our community is for those people.
We noticed that students and educators are often presented with conflicting advice, opaque guidance and confusing policies. We set out to fix that by building a community for the people who know there is more to it than that.
Our collaborators and guests come from some of the biggest names in tech, and we hope you enjoy learning from them as much as we have.

Our Team
AIED Collective was founded in 2025 by Alastair Town and Adam Shaw following a chat in the pub about how great it would be if there was a space where students and educators could learn from, and connect with, the best and brightest in the world of AI and tech.
One too many late nights at the computer led to the idea of building a community of innovators, and having experienced the difficulties of finding a graduate role during covid baking in some way of connecting students to industry…
AIEDCollective was born later that week.
Adam is a recognised voice in Higher Education employability, specialising in personal development, graduate impact, and curriculum innovation.
With over a decade of experience across the education sector, he has led industry partnerships, driven curriculum change, and shaped employability strategies grounded in authentic assessment and future-facing skills. Combining data insight with real-world context, Adam helps institutions deliver meaningful, measurable value for students and stakeholders alike.
His work is guided by one question: how can education not only prepare people for work, but empower them to find purpose through leadership, contribution, and lasting impact in a rapidly changing world?
